Tips on Dealing with Recurrent Patchy Hair Loss Alopecia Areata - Part 1

Alopecia areata is a localized, patchy, without scarring form of hair loss, by the presence of one or more round or oval areas of hairless. The affected skin appears normal and smooth, in contrast to the mixed fungal infections, where it's breaking crusting of the skin and hair. On the edge of the patches, a few short hairs, the cone and pigment loss, as they approach the skin can be seen. These are called "exclamation point" hairs because of their similarityto the mark.

Alopecia areata usually affects the scalp. Other areas with hair, especially the beard are also affected. All ages may be affected in alopecia areata, although the common age group 15-30. Alopecia Areata The youngest patient that I saw was a 2-year-old girl.

Causes of Alopecia Areata:

1st autoimmune theory: Alopecia areata is probably an autoimmune disease in whichBody produces antibodies (auto'antibodies) to the hair germ cells and cause their destruction in localized areas. The localization of lesions also suggest a neural pathway involvement. In patients with gray hair, it is common to see that only suggestive of black hair fall in patches. sparing of gray hair in alopecia areata that is normal nerves and melanin pigments for Alopecia Areata need arise.

2nd DirectPressure: Many patients receive, patchy hair loss, etc., by direct pressure on the hair in sections, for example, from a close-fitting helmet, pressing the head against bed rails for a long time while watching TV

3rd mobile phones and Alopecia Areata: Another complication of the modern unit! Prior to free his hands, sits down together, a number of patients who presented primarily with cheaper brands of cell phones, with alopeciaAreata their beards. Perhaps the radio waves emitted by the mobile phone damage the hair follicles and triggered an autoimmune inflammatory response in the area. Most of them also had a dull pain in the ear on the same page.

4th tooth decay: This is ignoring a very important factor in the rule of the patients and their doctors. In the Middle East, where I practice, there is a very high incidence of alopecia areata. In my practice, I'm almost over6-7% of cases among the total of alopecia skin conditions. In addition to stress, a common factor that I noticed was the presence of dental caries in almost all cases with recurrent patchy hair loss, especially on the beard. Scientific studies have demonstrated that alopecia areata of dental origin has been mentioned in the deed in scientific journals.

Personally, I have a habit that all of my alopecia areata patients with recurrent patchy hair loss, are particularly resistant toTreatment to a dentist. Most of these patients stop recurrence taken care of their teeth right after infection.

Possible explanation for the relationship between dental caries, and alopecia areata: Tooth germ cells and embryonic germ cells have hair and histologic similarities. Therefore, the antibodies formed against the damaged tooth germ cells and the bacteria attacking the hair follicles must be good. This is only a hypothesis and mustStudied further. The involvement of the nail (nail holes) in alopecia areata support this hypothesis, there is another cuticle of the skin, which is similar to the teeth and hair!

5th Stress: Most patients with recurrent episodes of alopecia areata are also the report of a preceding period of intense stress in their lives. As the stress causes hair loss only in localized patches, is not known. Hypothetically, the nervous and immune system changesReactions to stress may play a role in the pathogenesis of alopecia areata. Matching studies in which cure was to stress the implementation of techniques in non-responders suggest affected in a positive role of stress in the genesis of alopecia areata.
